Foldforming is an intuitive approach to traditional metalsmithing that takes advantage of the natural characteristics of metal. By examining the inherent plasticity, ductility and elasticity of metal we will explore the way three-dimensional forms are created in nature. Learn to create metal forms resembling seashells, horns, flowers, leaves folded blades of grass and numerous other organic growths. Prerequisites: Basic metalsmithing techniques, and open mind and a sense of exploration.
The workshop committee is starting to plan workshops for 2013. Check the SMM web site often for updates. There will be a survey sent out to all SMM members to make their choices from a list of available workshops. SMM wants to provide workshops that our members want to take.
