Workshop Name: How to use the Hydraulic Press

Workshop Description: In this class we will cover the basic use of the Hydraulic Press, by creating a matrix die to press shapes that can become pendants, earrings or other objects. You will learn how to make the dies and press the metal. We will also cover matrix die inserts, contained urethane dies, carving acrylic for contained dies, and embossing dies, the use of the disc cutter in the press and conforming dies made from Devcon Plastic Steel.
Student Supply List:• Saw frame • Flexshaft if possible (bring an extension cord)• Wax or heavy burs if you have any• Ultra fine Sharpie• Any other tools you may need for soldering or for fabricating.
Workshop Fee: $135Kit Fee: $55 The kit includes: 2 - 3” X 3” 18 gauge brass sheets, 2 – 3” X 3” 20 gauge copper sheets, 2 – 3” X 3” 22 gauge copper sheets, 2 – 3” X 3” 28 gauge copper sheets, 4 – 3” X 3” acrylic sheets, 2 skip-tooth saw blades, 1 dozen #1 saw blades, 1 dozen #1/0 saw blades. The kit fee will be collected by the instructor during class.
Instructor will supply: double stick tape, wire for embossing dies, drill bits, and layout fluid. For purchase the instructor will have: more copper, brass, and acrylic sheets, Devcon Plastic Steel, steel mold blanks for plastic steel and Delrin Domed Punch Blanks. Sign up here
